Hi guys, I'm new to Reaper (switching from Audition) and loving it so far. I do sound art. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to mark or note an audio file and then use those marks/notes in different sessions. For example, if I have one audio file that has both great bird sounds and great druming sounds: how can I mark that file and then see those marks in multiple sessions/projects? Is regions the only tool for making notes like this in Reaper?
hey Bob... using your lua and it seems to only insert the cue at the start of the media item regardless of where the edit cursor is located... I expected it to insert a cue maker into the wav file at the edit cursor, ..no?
OK Bob... I have a LICECAP gif, but this time it did write the cue markers but with a problem... I have my ruler set to have 4 minus bars before 1... just a way to keep space at the the head of a project and still have correct ruler counting for things like 12 or 16 bar verses, etc. so the lua does not take that in to account... instead of actually putting cue at the edit cursor location, it put the cue at the edit cursor minus the -4 measures.... I'm sure if I change my ruler to not use any minus numbers it would work as you have shown... but wonder if it is possible to keep using my minus measures ruler and have it work ok? EDIT: hmmm maybe I can just do it with a custom action to move the cursor ahead then the lua then move the cursor back EDIT 2: well close but no cigar on the custom action idea... OK so the problem comes down to this... It seems the cue lua is placing the cue at some ruler location rather than just at the edit cursor location, regardless of what the ruler is set to...
