I have just acquired from my uncle who used to have a 240 some boxes of miscellaneous and mostly Volvoid junk. In these boxes are two Volvo special tools, and I do not know what they are for... Tool 899579 is a steel ring thing about 8 inches diameter, split at one point with a bolt across the split, presumably so you can put it round something and tighten it in place; at 90 degrees round from the bolt in either direction are two hooks attached to the ring. Tool 879058 is a thing about 18 inches long or thereabouts shaped like a yoke, as in the thing milkmaids used to put across their shoulders with a bucket dangling from either end, only in place of dangling buckets there are two hooks with wingnut things to tighten them onto something. If anyone has any idea what either of these tools are for it would be appreciated if you could post your thoughts here

Well, in sketching the tools, I discovered a sticker attached to the yoke thing, which describes it as a "clutch tool" for a Saab. knows how I managed to miss the sticker before, but there we go. And I never knew my uncle had ever had a Saab, and I've never had one, so I don't know what he thinks I might want the tool for... So presumably the other tool is also for a Saab. But since I have intrigued and puzzled you all with this item I'll post the sketches anyway... 879058: 899579:
